MRD Energy saves money in two different and important ways. The first method of saving energy is a technique called power factor correction. Power factor correction reduces the total amount of current needed by an electric system. Our power factor correction can be installed on any electrical system, both during construction and on existing buildings, on any electrical system. By reducing the current required to operate, you will reduce the overall electrical consumption. A reduction in electrical consumption translates to a reduction in electrical expense and a lower electric bill. Our power factor correction equipment reduces expensive demand charges for which you may be charged as part of your electrical bill. Finally, by installing MRD Energy products, you may be able to operate more equipment powered by an electrical panel to which the unit is installed without having undergo expensive installations of additional panels or rewiring of the facility.

The second method we use to save money for our clients is integration of surge arrestors inside of our equipment. Our surge protection is provided by transient voltage surge suppressors (TVSS) manufactured by Dehn, a worldwide leader for over fifty years in surge protection technology. The integrated surge protection reduces or eliminates the surge and voltage disruptions from indirect lightning strikes and electrical surges from both commercially available power and generators. All electrical devices are subject to long term damage from multiple small electrical surges which shortens their lifespan. A surge of great magnitude can cause immediate and catastrophic damage to equipment, rendering it useless. By using our power factor correction equipment, constant and reliable surge suppression and voltage regulation, our customers can extend the life of equipment, delay capital equipment purchases, and costly purchases of ruined capital equipment from damages caused by surges, indirect lighting, and degradation of equipment.
